10 Fun Facts About North Dakota State Basketball

K-State basketball opens the regular season tomorrow night against North Dakota State at 7:00 in Bramlage Coliseum.  Here are 10 fun facts about NDSU basketball.

1)  North Dakota State plays in the Summit League.

2)  They won their postseason conference tournament in March to qualify for the 2019 NCAA tournament, their fourth NCAA tournament appearance.

3)  They beat North Carolina Central 78-74 in the First Four and lost to Duke 85-62 in the next round.

4)  They are picked to win the Summit League in 2019-20.

5)  Guard Vinnie Shahid is a first team Summit League selection and led the team in scoring last season with 13.1 points per game.

6)  Ex-head coaches of note include Gregg McDermott and Tim Miles.

7)  Their mascot is named Thundar.

8)  K-State head football coach Chris Klieman was head coach of North Dakota State football prior to coming to K-State.

9)  Head coach David Richman has been head coach since 2014 and has made two NCAA tournaments.  His record at NDSU is 96-67 overall and 45-33 in conference.

10)  NDSU comes into the game ranked 165 in the KenPom ratings.  K-State is ranked 49th.
